Information Collection and Use
The Auto Buying Program collects information from our users at several different points on our web site.

New and Pre Owned Vehicle Requests
The Auto Buying Program will collect and use your personal information to respond to your requests for information on new and pre-owned vehicles. When you enter this information on the request form, the Auto Buying Program will collect your name, address, day and evening telephone numbers, e-mail address and member number. This information will be provided to state franchised new and used vehicle dealers who participate in this program. If there are no participating dealers selling your desired make of vehicle in your immediate area, we may forward your information to a partner of the Auto Buying Program who will endeavor to fulfill your request.

Member Classifieds
When you list your vehicle for sale in the Member Classifieds on www.SamsClubAuto.com, the Auto Buying Program will collect your name, zip code, email address, and a credit card number for use in collecting the publication fee. This personal data will be collected in a secure environment. When another website user is interested in your vehicle, you will be notified by email and you can choose to respond to the potential purchaser or not. Only your zip code will be provided to a user inquiring about your vehicle.

Sharing Information with Third Parties
All personally identifiable information provided by our users is used only as the user directs. Unless you give us permission to do so or unless required by law, we do not use or disclose personally identifiable information to any third party unless we notify you in advance of your providing us that information. We may share aggregated statistical information about the use of our site with our business partners. Such aggregated statistical information does not include personally identifiable information. We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site.

 

The Auto Buying Program has third party business partners who provide services for auto buying such as loans, leases, etc. The Auto Buying Program web site frames the partner's web sites. When our business partners offer you their products or services through the Auto Buying Program’s web site, we notify you at the point of collection. Although our marketing company logs the information coming from our site on our behalf, we control how that data may and may not be used.
